The Log and A Broke Wrist

I was in the woods walking with my friends one day and there was a log. The log was about 30 foot long and 2 foot wide. The log was hanging in between two ditches and the ditch was about 5 foot deep. My friends dared me to walk across the log so me being hard headed I did it. When I first walked out on the log it felt stable so I kept on going out. My friends walked out onto the log with me then the log started rolling and they ran off. I was stuck on the log and lost my balance and fell off. After falling my friends helped me up and I passed out. I looked down at my wrist when I woke up and realized my wrist was broken. So I called my mom and she met me at the Dr office and I got a cast. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time to get hurt like that.

“We Real Cool” CommonLit Reflection

“We Real Cool” is about a couple teenage boys skipping school and hanging out in a pool hall smoking and drinking whatever they could get there hands on. It is based on the boys not having a care in the world and having a good time with there “bros”. They could be in school learning instead.

CommonLit helps me understand the poem better by having an assessment to ask questions based on the poem. The assessment breaks the poem down to parts where you can understand the hidden meanings behind the figurative language.
